Satin Nightdresses
Satin nightdresses, nighties and slips: smooth, cool satin in black, cream, champagne, plum and blue, from knee-length chemises with lace cups to long gowns. Irall's run from S (UK 8–10) to XXL (UK 16–18), so most styles here are also available as a plus size nightdress.
How to choose. A nightdress has no belt to adjust, so follow the brand chart more closely than you would for a robe. Satin feels cool when you first get into bed, which suits a warm room; for a cold bedroom, pair it with a dressing gown or look at viscose. Lace cups and embroidery decide the wash: a laundry bag or a hand wash. Sizes differ between brands, so check the chart in Size Guides or use Find My Size.
What is the difference between a nightdress, a chemise and a slip?
A nightdress is any dress worn to sleep in. A chemise is a short, straight nightdress on thin straps, and a slip is cut the same way but made to be worn under clothes. Irall calls several of its short satin nightdresses chemises.
Which satin nightdresses come in plus sizes?
Irall styles sold in XXL fit UK 16–18, and lines such as Titania run 2XL–5XL. Shirley of Hollywood's 1X–3X and YesX's XL/2XL to 3XL/4XL are plus sizes too. The plus sizes collection shows them together.
How should I wash satin?
Cool and gentle, by machine or by hand, with no tumble drying and a cool iron on the reverse. Wash dark colours separately the first time.
Can I return a nightdress?
Yes: you have 14 days from delivery, as with all nightwear. Sealed intimates sold with a set are excluded once opened.
