Tights
Sheer, patterned and opaque tights from Ballerina, Black Secret and Gabriella, with Control Body's shaping tights alongside. Sizes run from S/M and L/XL through Gabriella's numbers 2 to 7 (S to 3XL), colours include black, skin, beige, grey, white and bordeaux. Most are polyamide with elastane, and some include cotton.
Pick the denier for the weather and the outfit: finer deniers look sheerer on the leg, while heavier ones, up to 100 denier, are opaque and warmer. Tights are hosiery, so they are sealed for hygiene and cannot be returned once opened. Measure before you order, because a pair that is short for your height will pull.
How do I measure for tights?
Take your hip measurement at the widest point and your height without shoes, then match both against the brand's chart. Ballerina and Gabriella size by hip and height, so a dress size alone will not tell you.
What does Gabriella's numbering mean?
It runs 2 (S), 3 (M), 4 (L), 5 (XL), 6 (XXL) and 7 (3XL), while the paired sizes use 1/2 (XS/S) and 3/4 (M/L).
